WE’RE LOOKING FOR A SPORT MEDICINE PHYSICIAN

ARTHRITIS AND INJURY CARE CENTRE – HALIFAX/DARTMOUTH, NOVA SCOTIA

The Arthritis and Injury Care Centre is pleased to offer both a part-time
and or full- time Sport Medicine practice with a full case load of sport medicine
referrals.

We are a busy multidisciplinary clinic with four locations throughout Atlantic
Canada, three of which are in the Halifax Regional Municipality, and One in Fredericton NB.

 Our Arthritis & Injury Care Team/Services Currently Consists Of:

o Sport medicine physician providing consults by referral only
o Orthopedic surgeon providing consults by referral only
o Bracing Specialists fitting/providing high quality bracing products
o Orthotist Services
o Certified Podiatrists providing high quality foot care
o Certified Pedorthists providing high quality custom foot orthotics
o Physiotherapy
▪ Dry needling
▪ Shockwave therapy
▪ Manual therapy
▪ Pre-operative appointments
o Massage therapy

o Chiropractic Services
o Onsite fabrication lab for custom products and adjustments
o HA Injections
• Portable Ultrasound for guided injections
• Dedicated clinic/treatment rooms

The Physician must:

• Be in good standing with College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia
• Current Nova Scotia billing number
• Degree in Medicine
• Diploma in Sport Medicine

    Do I need a medical referral/prescription?

    Yes. If you need to see one of our sports medicine physicians a medical referral from your physician is required. This allows you to see the appropriate specialist at the right time, which can help to reduce wait times. Referrals from a family physician can be faxed to (902) 442-5625.
  • Do I need an appointment?

    Do I need an appointment?

    Once your medical referral form is submitted from your physician and reviewed an appointment will be booked accordingly. There are appointments available for acute injuries so please indicate on the referral if you would like your patient seen on an urgent basis.
  • Does provincial health care (MSI/Medicare) cover the costs at Arthritis & Injury Care Centre?

    We are a private company whose services are not covered by MSI or Medicare. Part or complete service and/or product costs are often covered under most insurance plans. At the Arthritis & Injury Care Centre we will help to obtain all coverage information for you and will bill directly any companies that allow it. This includes private insurance companies, Worker’s Compensation Board (WCB), Community Services, and moreAppointments with our Orthopedic Consultants ARE covered by MSI/Medicare.

    How do I know if my private insurance will cover the service and/or products?

    As a service to eliminate any confusion, the Arthritis and Injury Care Centre offers to contact your private insurance company, to find out all specific insurance coverage details on your behalf.If estimates are required by an insurance company, to determine coverage, an estimate will be sent at no charge.The Arthritis and Injury Care Centre will bill directly all insurance companies and policies that allow for this service. We will walk you all the way through this process either way.Should you have any questions during this process please contact our office and we will be happy to help.
